A few random pictures....

First of all another ridiculous crash - this time on the Saadiyat highway. 4 lanes, wide, little traffic - and yet someone still manages to crash headlong into the concrete safety barrier!

The sun whited out this shot, but you get the idea!

Don't ask..... wtf?

I did a visit the the construction site of the new Cleveland Clinic. By all accounts the whole of the top floor (highest one you can see) is going to be just one suite for the Royals! The second floor is split into 4 (I think it is) as 4 VVIP suites......it will be the place to be ill and wealthy!

My random celeb (C list) follower on twitter :-)

 ...more wtf !

This was some kind of cool looking dune bashing car - I want one!

Story of a Fort

Last night we went to see "Story of a Fort, Legacy of a Nation", part of the Qasr Al Hosn Festival. The festival celebrates 250 years history of the Fort, which stands as the oldest building in Abu Dhabi and is a symbol of the history, culture and traditions of the Emirati people. If you live in Abu Dhabi, I would urge you to go. The Festival itself has many interesting facets, including the cultural displays inside the outer walls of the Fort complex where many traditional arts, crafts, food and music etc can be experienced.

The same night we were there, we saw Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi (centre), attending also....

The show was created by Franco Dragone, famed for his work with Cirque du Soleil, and included lots of projected images , acrobats and dancing - together with Arabic poems. Altogether it was quite a spectacle and well worth seeing. I really enjoyed it.

First of all here are some pictures from the Festival....

Then from the show

And a short video clip ...

Golf at Meydan

I was invited by a friend to join him and a mate for a round of golf on Saturday at the Meydan golf course, called The Track. I hadn't played for about 18 months, and neither had they, so there was no pressure! It was a nice relaxed round. The course was 9 holes repeated, with some challenging fairways (very hard and running on) and also some very fast greens. The back drop of views was also pretty spectacular. Here's a few piccies....

Now thats what I call a bunker!

A good time had by all!
